“Voices by Joey Parker Review: An Emotional M/M Romance About Trauma and Healing”

Book Review: Voices by Joey Parker – A Story of Silence, Survival, and Second Chances Posted by GetUrBook There are some books that don’t just tell a story—they hold space for your heart to feel, break, and begin healing. Joey Parker’s debut, Voices, is one of those books. From the outside, it might look like just another college hockey romance—but what lies within these pages is far more layered and profound. Voices is a quiet, aching exploration of trauma, wrapped in the warmth of an unexpected love story. The protagonist, an artist living in silence, carries deep emotional scars. His trauma isn’t loudly expressed; it seeps through the cracks of his daily life, coloring how he moves through the world. Then he meets the hockey team captain—a young man who appears to have it all together, but is also unraveling beneath his carefully constructed armor. Together, they become each other’s safe space. And as their bond deepens, Parker beautifully captures the messy, non-linear process of healing. It’s not easy. It’s not clean. There are setbacks, panic attacks, flashbacks. But there is also comfort, trust, and moments so tender they’ll stay with you long after you finish reading. What stood out most to me was how Voices doesn’t romanticize trauma. It honors it. It treats its characters with compassion and gives them room to be vulnerable. It reminds us that being loved doesn’t mean being fixed—it means being accepted, scars and all. If you’ve ever looked for a book that offers both raw emotion and gentle hope, Voices delivers. It’s not just a love story—it’s a story about survival, self-worth, and the quiet power of being heard. Highly recommended for fans of M/M romance, emotional slow burns, and stories that feel as much as they entertain.

The Disclosure Paradox: What they dont want you to know about Aliens !!

The Disclosure Paradox Book1The Disclosure Paradox Book1 by Paul Vecchiet
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

.

πŸ“š Book Review: The Disclosure Paradox by Paul G. Vecchiet

What if the truth we’ve been chasing isn’t just hidden—but protected by forces beyond our understanding?

In The Disclosure Paradox, Paul G. Vecchiet crafts a mind-bending narrative that blurs the line between science fiction and spiritual awakening. It’s not just about UFOs and government secrecy—it’s about the cost of knowing, and the courage it takes to confront truths that could shatter reality.

Louis Silvani is a man haunted by his past and obsessed with what lies beneath the surface—literally and metaphorically. When a mysterious blueprint leads him to an underground chamber, his search for answers plunges him into a shadowy world of covert operations and chilling experiments. But this isn’t your average alien thriller. With the help of Mary Ellen Velarde, a Jicarilla Apache woman deeply connected to ancient knowledge, the story transforms into a soulful exploration of destiny, consciousness, and the battle for humanity’s future.

What makes The Disclosure Paradox so compelling isn’t just its gripping plot—it’s the way it dares you to think. It challenges us to question the nature of truth, the existence of other life forms, and the hidden history we may never fully uncover. Vecchiet masterfully weaves science, mysticism, and human emotion into a tale that lingers long after the last page.

πŸ›Έ If you’re a fan of thought-provoking sci-fi with spiritual depth, this is a must-read.

⭐ Verdict: Riveting, mysterious, and deeply introspective.

The Sun's Shadow By Sejal Badani

The Sun's ShadowThe Sun's Shadow by Sejal Badani
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

πŸŒ… Book Review: The Sun’s Shadow by Sejal Badani 🌿
πŸ“– @geturbook

I just finished The Sun’s Shadow by Sejal Badani, and I’m still sitting with all the emotions it stirred in me. This isn't just a story—it's a journey through heartbreak, resilience, and the quiet, extraordinary courage it takes to keep going when life falls apart.

Celine’s world begins to crumble when her beloved equestrian farm—the sanctuary she’s built—is under threat. But that’s only the beginning. Her son Brian is diagnosed with cancer, and her husband, Eric, reveals a devastating truth: he has a son from a past affair. The emotional wreckage that follows is raw, real, and painfully human.

What struck me most was how Badani captures the complexity of relationships—how betrayal and grief can co-exist with love and forgiveness. Watching Celine and Felicity—two mothers connected by the same man—navigate this storm for the sake of their children was incredibly moving. It’s not easy to read at times, but it’s so worth it.

The writing is gentle yet powerful, with moments of quiet reflection that made me pause and breathe. I felt the ache of every mother’s sacrifice, the confusion of a child trying to understand illness, and the glimmer of hope that flickers even in the darkest corners.

If you love emotionally layered stories that make you feel every heartbeat, The Sun’s Shadow deserves a spot on your TBR. It reminded me that even in the deepest shadows, love has a way of finding the light.

Interview of the Author of Sun's Shadow -Ms Shejal Badani

1. If you could go back in time, where would you go?
When your children are little, it’s easy to get caught up in the chaos of those early months—sleepless nights, endless crying, and the sheer exhaustion of it all. In the moment, it feels overwhelming. But looking back now, I’d give anything to relive those days, just to hold my babies in my arms again. Both of my children are grown now, and while I’m endlessly proud of the people they’ve become, there are moments when I find myself remembering those fleeting years.

2. Favorite travel spot?
London. I try to visit as often as I can. There’s something about the culture, the food, and the people that completely captivates me. The city’s energy is unmatched, and its architecture—both historic and cutting-edge—is nothing short of breathtaking. I first visited when I was 19, and from that moment on, I was hooked. It’s a place that continues to inspire me every time I return.

3. Favorite dessert?
My go-to dessert is always a warm brownie paired with vanilla ice cream. It never fails to hit the spot.

4. Any hobbies?
Running outdoors is my favorite way to recharge. I always prioritize my physical health, and being in nature does wonders for my mental well-being, too. And it’s true what they say—a runner’s high is real, and there’s nothing quite like it.

5. If there is one thing you want readers to remember about you, what would it be?
I truly can’t express how grateful I am to each and every one of my readers. Your support means the world to me, and I owe so much of my journey and success to you. Thank you for being a part of it.
